Samsung halts shipments of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro due to quality control concerns

Samsung has paused the shipment of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro due to concerns about product quality. The company is taking steps to improve quality control before the earbuds are released, citing the infamous Galaxy Note incident from eight years ago. This decision was announced in a statement provided to ReturnByte and Android Authority.

Some users who received the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro before its launch on July 24 reported that their ear tips were easily torn. Considering how often the tips might need to be removed and replaced to find the ideal fit, the tear-prone material could have resulted in terrible PR and a costly recall if the company had let the launch go ahead as planned.

Samsung’s website has added a new release date of August 28, though it’s unclear if that’s a soft placeholder or a new hard target. Additionally, the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Amazon listing has been pulled completely.

“To ensure that all of our products meet our quality standards, we have temporarily suspended shipments of Galaxy Buds 3 Pro devices to distribution channels to conduct a full quality control review before shipping to consumers,” Samsung’s statement said. Samsung Korea previously issued a statement apologizing for quality control issues and promising a full investigation. However, this note did not mention the delay.

The company added that customers who have already received the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and are experiencing problems should contact Samsung or visit a Samsung service center. Android Authority also released an email sent to pre-order customers confirming the delay and advising them to request a cancellation if they wish.
